Dozens of properties had been evacuated in the East Yorkshire town of Snaith on Thursday, February 27, though that afternoon council officials said water levels appeared to have stabilized.

This footage shows flooding close to a railway outside the town, and water surrounding homes in the town. Sixty properties were flooded, according to East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

One resident told the BBC her home was severely damaged.

Warnings were still in place for the area on Thursday afternoon, with officials saying the flood risk along the River Aire, which is just north of Snaith, remained high.

The Met Office, the UK’s weather service, said more rain and wind gusts up to 60 mph were expected over the weekend with the arrival of Storm Jorge. Credit: @Mol27445556 via Storyful
