Hurricane Sally brought flash flooding and damaging winds to cities along the Gulf as it made landfall on Wednesday, September 16, local media reported.

Downed trees, power outages, and damaged infrastructure were reported across the region. Part of a new bridge in Pensacola, Florida, was reported missing by Wednesday morning.

Floyd Tolbert said this video shows a large tree being brought down by Hurricane Sally’s winds in Cantonment, a town near the Florida-Alabama border.

As of 10 am on Wednesday, Hurricane Sally was located about 15 miles from Pensacola and packing 80 mph winds, according to the National Hurricane Center. Credit: Floyd Tolbert via Storyful
