Lava Lights Up Night Sky During Mount Etna Eruption

Lava fountains shot into the sky from Italy’s Mount Etna during a paroxysm on the night of June 14, following recent Strombolian activity.

Monday’s eruption produced an ash plume that reportedly rose to 6,000 meters above sea level.
