Lebanon’s Minister of Education, Tarek Majzoub, was met by angry locals on August 7, when he visited a neighborhood in Beirut that was affected by the explosion that rocked the city earlier in the week, local media reported.

Videos shared on social media showed Majzoub in the Karantina neighborhood surrounded by people shouting at him and motioning for him to leave the area.

This footage shows Majzoub walking through the neighborhood on the same date.

Lebanon declared a two-week state of emergency a day after the blast killed at least 154 people and injured more than 5,000, according to local media. Credit: امال خليل via Storyful
