UK Activists Rally in London in Support of George Floyd Protesters

Hundreds of people gathered at London’s Trafalgar Square on May 31 chanting “Stop killing us” and “I can’t breath” in support of protests in the US triggered by the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minnesota days earlier.

Floyd died after a police officer knelt on his neck during an arrest on May 25. The phrase “I can’t breath” has become a rallying cry for protesters after video circulated on social media showing Floyd pleading with the officer as he was held down.
