2 Airline Crew Killed During Emergency Landing in Siberia

Two crew members were killed during the emergency landing of an Antonov An-24 twin turboprop airplane owned by Angara airlines in Nizhneangarsk, eastern Siberia on June 27.

The plane made an emergency landing on its Ulan-Ude to Nizhneangarsk route, touching down on the runway before spinning out and hitting a sewage treatment plant after which it caught fire, according to Russian authorities.

In a press release, the airline company stated that inspector-pilot Kolomin Vladimir Ilyich and flight mechanic Bardanov Oleg Vladimirovich were killed. All 43 passengers survived. Credit: Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation via Storyful
