Police in South Yorkshire, England, caught a truck driver with a mobile phone in each hand as he drove – with no seatbelt on – along a highway earlier in February.

The traffic officer recording the video comments that the driver is “absolutely oblivious.”

Officers were using an unmarked heavy goods vehicle to pull up next to drivers to get a look into their vehicles.

Police said they found 41 motorists driving without wearing a seatbelt, with 19 using their mobile phone while driving. Six were speeding, and 10 were found to not be in proper control of their vehicles, police said.

More than 2,000 people were killed or seriously injured by impaired or distracted drivers on England’s principal roads and motorways over the last five years, police said. Credit: South Yorkshire Police via Storyful
