Danish Lighthouse Wheeled to Safety to Avoid Coastal Erosion Threat

The Rubjerg Knude lighthouse, in Denmark, was slowly wheeled away from the coastline on October 22, amid fears that erosion could put the 119-year-old structure at risk.

This video shows the lighthouse trundling along a specially built track, which allowed construction crews to relocate it 70 meters inland.

The BBC reported that, when first built, the lighthouse was about 200 meters from the coast. Credit: Fyretflytter via Storyful
