Dense fog cut visibility in central California to as low as 200 feet in some areas on Thursday, January 23, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported.

The NWS issued a dense fog advisory for parts of California’s San Joaquin Valley on Thursday morning, warning motorists of a “high transportation risk” due to reduced visibility.

The NWS advised drivers to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain additional space between other cars while driving through patches of fog.
