Residents in Edinburgh were seen emptying bucketfuls of water from their flooded home as the Scottish capital was hit with heavy rain and flooding on August 11 and into August 12.

This video, shared by Daniel Crehan, shows the flooded scene on a street near the Union Canal.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency warned that heavy showers on August 11 and 12 could cause flooding with urban areas and the transport network “particularly at risk.”

The Met Office said further thunderstorms could develop on August 12 and warned of a “small chance” that some communities could become cut off by flooded roads.
