Footage taken on the evening of May 27 showed an AutoZone store in Minneapolis being ransacked, shortly before a fire broke out, destroying the store by the following morning.

This video was taken inside the AutoZone on East Lake Street, shortly after 9 pm local time. Nearby businesses, including a Target, were also looted as protests against the police killing of George Floyd turned violent.

Video taken the following morning showed the AutoZone lying in ruins. Also destroyed overnight was a six-story apartment building that had been under construction.

Protests in Minneapolis and other American cities have grown in the days since Floyd’s death on May 25.

Video taken at the scene of his arrest showed Floyd, 46, slip out of consciousness as a police officer, identified as Derek Chauvin, forced his knee into Floyd’s neck while pinning him to the street. Credit: @ianrahs via Storyful
