A landmark 210-foot-tall smokestack was toppled in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on May 19 due to safety concerns.

The smokestack was originally built in 1899, on what was the site of the Plymouth Cordage Company, at the time the world’s biggest rope manufacturer.

According to Patch, the city’s building and fire departments deemed the structure a public hazard and began the process of its removal on May 9.
