Intense rain in Australia’s Northern Territory this November has revived some of the usually dry outback waterfalls in the Watarrka National Park.

The video, taken by Christopher Hakanson on November 23, shows water gushing down the red sandstone in the park, which lies about 200 miles southwest of Alice Springs.

According to local reports, the Bureau of Meteorology recorded 218.2 millimeters of rain in November for Alice Springs, making it one of the wettest months on record.

“These waterfalls are beautiful but short-lived … you have to be in the right place at the right time,” Christopher Hakanson, a local tour guide, told Storyful. Credit: Christopher Hakanson via Storyful
