A crocheted Christmas tree took center stage in Berea, Kentucky, completed after nearly a year of work.
The 12-foot-high tree, crafted from approximately 900 crocheted granny squares on a metal frame, was the brainchild of Joy Gritton. According to Lex 18, Gritton was inspired by other communities and similar designs from Europe.
The project had been in the works since February, the news report said, with some 1,200 volunteer hours spent creating the tree.
