A wildfire burning in Shasta County, California, grew to 3,200 acres and was 5 percent contained late on August 1, according to local fire authorities.

The lightning-sparked McFarland Fire began on Thursday, July 29, according to officials, and had 364 personnel working to contain it by Sunday.
