Police in Scotland Reassure Residents After 'Thundersnow' Sounds Mistaken for Explosions

Police in Scotland took to Twitter to reassure members of the public early in the morning of December 4 after residents mistook booming thunder during a snowstorm for “explosions.”

Writing about the thundersnow just after 5 am, Police Scotland said: “We have received a number of calls regarding people concerned about explosions heard. Please do not be alarmed, we are currently experiencing thunder and lightning.”
