Protesters Chant 'Quit Your Jobs' Outside ICE Headquarters

Protesters gathered outside Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters in Washington on Tuesday, July 16, shouting “quit your jobs” to individuals outside the building.

Video posted to Twitter shows men and women walking between two lines of demonstrators as they chanted. Reporters at the scene said at least one ICE employee engaged with protesters outside the building.

Tuesday’s protests began on Amazon’s Prime Day, a two-day period during which the e-commerce giant offers deals.

Activists have criticized Amazon for selling a facial recognition technology to government and private agencies, including ICE, as well as criticizing Amazon Web Services, Amazon’s cloud-computing subsidiary, for using servers to host Palantir, the Silicon Valley data mining company that enables ICE to carry out deportations.
