Protesters Rally During Wayfair Walkout in Boston

People gathered in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 26 in support of a planned walkout of Wayfair employees over the company selling beds to migrant detention centers, local media reported.

More than 500 Wayfair employees signed a petition asking the company to “cease all business” with detention centers holding migrant children along the US-Mexico border, according to the official Wayfair Walkout event page.

BCFS, a government contractor that managed detention centers, placed a $200,000 Wayfair order for bedroom furniture, according to local media. A walkout was organized when the company refused to stop business with detention centers.

Local media reported that Wayfair sent a letter to employees saying it would donate $100,000 to the American Red Cross in an “effort to help those in dire need of basic necessities at the border.”
