Clean-up and rescue operations were underway on September 15 in parts of Spain affected by record rainfall.

Footage shared by the Civil Protection in Murcia showed some of the damage caused by the flooding in the town of Los Alcazares.

Severe rainfall hit the area on September 12. El Pais reported that at least six people had died as a result of storms. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visited the flood-hit areas on September 14, surveying some of the damage from the air. Credit: Ayuntamiento de Bullas via Storyful
