Snow fell in elevated areas of New South Wales on July 13, blanketing the Northern Tablelands, as heavy rains and high winds were forecast in other parts of Australia.

This footage was taken on the evening of July 13, near Ben Lomond in the Northern Tablelands.

In more southern parts of New South Wales, ski areas reportedly received as much as a half meter of snow. The winter weather caused a number of accidents, and led to road closures, local authorities reported.

In Western Australia, authorities warned that some areas could see winds as high as 125km/h (about 78 mph) along with intense rain. Credit: Robert Every via Storyful
