A Wisconsin choir gave an American Airlines pilot quite a send-off on June 26 after his retirement flight from Dublin, Ireland, to Chicago, Illinois.

The choir, from St Anthony on the Lake, a Roman Catholic church in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, had just returned from a nine-day trip to Ireland, according to the church’s website.

In this footage, they are seen gathered to serenade Captain Brian Lenzen in Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, singing an Irish blessing: “Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.”

Lenzen was visibly moved by the performance, wiping tears from his eyes. As the song ended, the choir and onlookers applauded, and Lenzen thanked them for the performance.

American Airlines told Storyful Lenzen worked for the airline for 34 years. Sharing the video on Facebook, the airline wrote: “Sound on, tissues out.” Credit: American Airlines via Storyful
