Willy-Willy Swirls Through Dry Paddock in Rural New South Wales, Australia

A large dust devil, known locally as a “willy willy” formed near Wallangra in regional New South Wales on October 22.

The dust devil spiralled at a distance from Will Price, who was working on a private property.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, a dust devil forms due to “intense heating at the surface cuasing a rapid upward movement of pacel of air.” Credit: Will Price via Storyful
