Arizona Firefighters Rescue Cat Stuck in a Wall

Firefighters in Mesa, Arizona, were hoping a cat would have a “happy reunion” with its owner after they rescued it when it got stuck in a wall.

This footage, posted to Facebook on October 18, shows two firefighters lifting the cat after they freed it by breaking a few cinder blocks.

The Mesa Fire and Medical Department said it appeared “the cat entered the hollow wall at the top and found itself trapped when it crawled down to the base of the wall and got stuck with only its head sticking out.”

The cat was taken for emergency veterinary care, the fire service said. They also said the feline matched a description on a lost-pet flyer. “The owner was contacted and directed to the pet in hopes of a happy reunion,” they said. Credit: Mesa Fire and Medical Department via Storyful
