Bison Block Traffic in Yellowstone National Park

Traffic jams are not just a scourge of city life, they can also be a problem in the remote countryside. In some parts of Wyoming though, delays may just be caused by local wildlife rather than too many vehicles.

That was certainly the case when Joseph Williams recorded this footage of a bison blockade while driving through the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park.

Williams told Storyful that he captured the scene on May 24.

The National Park Service estimates there are around 5,450 bison in Yellowstone Park.
