Southwark underground station in London was forced to close during rush hour on the morning of January 21, after a burst water main flooded the station and surrounding streets.

Commuters were told by Transport for London to instead use Waterloo station for any journeys.

Blackfriars Road was closed between Southwark Street and Webber Street, and the London Fire Brigade was in attendance. Thames Water advised that customers living in the affected area would experience low water pressure. Credit: Harry Townsend via Storyful
