California Animal Services Team Rescue Donkey From Sinkhole

Animal services officers in Riverside County, California, teamed up with construction workers to rescue a donkey after it fell into a sinkhole in Reche Canyon, east of Highgrove, on Thursday, November 21.

According to the Riverside County Department of Animal Services, the donkey, or burro, fell into the hole near Pigeon Pass Road and High Grove Pass Road early Thursday morning.

Officers said the sinkhole appeared to form shortly after heavy rain in the area.

Footage released by the Riverside County Department of Animal Services shows how a backhoe was used to create a dirt ramp for the animal to climb up.
