A California Air National Guard C-130 Hercules was seen responding to wildfires in California in footage posted on August 22. Cockpit footage showed an aircraft flying low over the fires and dropping flame retardant.

In a Facebook post, the 146th Airlift Wing said: “MAFFS aircraft from 146th Airlift Wing are operating out of San Bernardino tanker base under a federal activation in support of fire suppression efforts. Since the activations the aircraft have dropped nearly 300,000 gallons of retardant on California wildfires!” According to the California National Guard, seven helicopters, two aircraft, and two drones are involved in fighting the fires across the state.
