Damage Reported From Possible Tornado in Alabama's Barbour County

A suspected tornado caused damage on Tuesday, March 31, as it moved near Eufaula in Alabama’s southeastern Barbour County, on the Georgia border, police said.

The Eufaula Police Department reported “major damage” near the Country Club of Alabama Golf Course, just south of the town. Local media said around 15 homes were damaged. Though many people were staying indoors due to the coronavirus pandemic, Mayor Jack Tibbs said only one minor injury had been reported, according to ABC 6.

A possible tornado was also spotted on Tuesday near Troy in Pike County. Strong to severe storms had been forecast for southeastern Alabama on Tuesday, with the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing multiple tornado warnings. Credit: Eddie Whithead via Storyful
