Dozens of Pensacola Residents Wait in Line for Gas After Storm Sally

More than 100,000 residents of Escambia County in Florida were still without power on Friday, September 18, two days after Hurricane Sally devastated the area, reports said.

The storm made landfall near Gulf Shores, Alabama, as a Category 2 system on September 16, bringing winds of up to 105 miles per hour, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Authorities estimated on September 18 that the storm, which dumped more than 2 feet of rain on Pensacola, caused $14.6 million of damage to structures there.

As of 6 am Friday, 67 percent of Escambia County remained without power.
