A Miami-Dade firefighter climbed his engine’s ladder on April 3 to wish a speedy recovery to a colleague hospitalized with the coronavirus, local media reported.

WSVN said the firefighter, who has not been named, was feeling isolated while in recovery at Kendall Regional Medical Center.

However, he was given a boost in spirits when his colleagues surprised him to wish him well. The firefighters had “Get Well Soon” cards and a sign reading “Your New Firehouse.”

In the video, recorded by the hospitalized firefighter, labored breathing can be heard in the background as he records the fire truck arriving below his hospital room.

“There they are. All this for me,” he says.

“This is love. This is the only kind of love you can get from the brother and sisterhood at the firehouse. There is just no other way to explain how this makes me feel." Credit: Miami-Dade Fire Rescue via Storyful
