There were fears on November 19 that the Guyra Road Fire, in Ebor, could merge with the Carrai Creek Fire, though the New South Wales Rural Fire Service said the latter eased into the night.

Both fires were “being controlled,” according to the fire service, with the Carrai Creek Fire having burned almost half a million acres.

A watch and act alert was in place for the Ebor fire as of the early hours of November 20. This video gives a dramatic close-up look at the fire from the point of view of an Armidale crew driving to provide property protection in Ebor and Yarrandoo. Credit: Armidale Rural Fire Service via Storyful
