Harvest Moon Captured in Timelapse Over Lake Superior

3 年前

October this year has two full moons: one on October 1, and a second on Halloween.

The first of these, coming closest to the autumn equinox, is the harvest moon. While full illumination of the moon only lasts an instant, it appears full to the naked eye for several days. This year’s harvest moon appeared full from September 30, and that’s when photographer Carol Bauer captured this timelapse, as the moon rose through the clouds above Lake Superior.
