Kangaroo Flees From Bushfire Threatening Homes Near Braidwood

A kangaroo was spotted fleeing a towering bushfire before it broke containment lines and threatened homes near Braidwood.

Firefighters fighting the North Black Range fire spotted the escaping marsupial when the fire broke containment lines and threatened properties at Foxs Elbow on December 10. The New South Wales Rural Fire Service issued a Watch and Act for residents in the area of Foxs Elbow and Watsons Road.

The North Black Range Fire has burnt nearly 36,000 hectares including a significant portion of the Tallaganda National Park. The bushfire is being brought under control by the New South Wales Rural Fire Service.
