KNP Complex Fire Grows to Over 17,800 Acres in Sequoia National Park

The KNP Complex Fire in California’s Sequoia National Park grew to 17,857 acres by the evening of September 18.

Lightning ignited the blaze on September 10 and firefighters were yet to record any containment. Conditions were expected to worsen as a red flag warning for high winds was in place from 5 pm through Sunday.

The wildfire prompted authorities to wrap the base of the world’s largest tree in aluminium.
