London Hit With 'Nightmare Flash Flooding'

A bout of strong thunderstorms brought heavy rain, hail, and lightning to the London area on Wednesday, August 12, reports said.

Richmond upon Thames was placed under a flood warning on August 12 as thunderstorms swept across the UK.

This video shows the scene in the London suburb of St Margarets, shared by Ricky Craig Pound, who called it “nightmare flash flooding.” Similar scenes were reported in East Twickenham.

Scotland also reported substantial flooding Wednesday morning.
