Hawaii’s statewide lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic has left many places deserted in the town of Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island, as video shared on April 1 shows.

Hawaii Gov David Ige’s “stay-at-home order,” which was introduced on March 23, requires civilians to stay in their homes as much as possible until at least April 30.

Footage recorded by photographer Kawika Singson shows the local high school, shopping malls, and beaches devoid of activity after the statewide order was introduced.
