Police walked side by side with protesters during a March for Peace in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 3.

Local news reported a small group of protesters met with the police after the march.

“They reached out to us and said ‘hey, we want to end this. what can we do?” said Pippen. “And that’s what I appreciate more than anything. I was supposed to go down for a 30-minute meeting and I was down there for four hours. And one of the officers got emotional and she apologized to me and said ‘Whatever we are doing wrong, I apologize’, and that meant a lot.” Credit: Latasha Pippen via Storyful
