Powerful winds and heavy rain hit southeast Florida on Tuesday, September 27, as outer bands of Hurricane Ian impacted the Sunshine State.

Footage taken by D. A. Ellis shows gusts sweeping trees and roadway flooding in Fort Lauderdale.

Meanwhile, tropical storm warnings were issued for Florida’s west coast, where the effects of the hurricane were expected to be most severe.
