Like a Record: Squirrel Spins Right Round on Bird Feeder

One squirrel was captured on camera in a wild spin after an attempted raid on a bird feeder in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

In footage shared to Facebook on March 30, a squirrel can be seen scaling the feeder’s stand before reaching out to get the grain — only to be spun around and flung off again.

Massachusetts man Charles Oliver said he installed the bird feeder in December 2019 and had since seen multiple squirrels trying similar stunts.

“We always have some squirrels around, since our house is set in the woods,” Oliver told Storyful. “Many of the squirrels are foiled by the feeder. But several seem to enjoy the ride.”

According the Oliver, the local squirrels “know that by spinning, a few seeds will fall out on the ground for them.”
