A flock of sheep slowed traffic outside Durango, Colorado, on Monday, June 27, much to the amusement of at least one driver.

Local resident Shannon Cox was driving from Pagosa Springs to Durango when she encountered the unusual sight on country road 501 near Bayfield.

Video by Cox shows ranchers, with the help of sheep dogs, herding hundreds of sheep along the road.

“As we were passing the sheep, their little sounds were adorable. They were moving a couple miles up the road. Everyone just had to be patient and make sure not to hit any of them,” Cox said.

“The ranchers and their dogs did a great job herding them and it was a sight to see. Patience was important. Just a little reminder to take some deep breaths and to not always be in such a hurry,” she added. Credit: Shannon Cox via Storyful
