Drivers navigated through low visibility as a snow squall moved over northwestern Kansas on Tuesday, February 25, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper said there have been a “significant” number of wrecks due to the slick, snowy weather. The Kansas Department of Transportation said it temporarily closed westbound Interstate 70 near the city of Salina due to car crashes.

A high wind warning was also in effect for multiple Kansas counties, with gusts reaching 60 mph, according to the NWS.
