Athletes and spectators paused an English Football League Championship match in London on December 4 during the sixth minute to remember six-year-old soccer fan Arthur Labinjo-Hughes who was killed by his parents in June 2020, according to reports.

Video filmed by Charlotte Richardson at a match between Millwall Football Club and Birmingham City Football Club shows the crowd standing from their seats at Millwall Holdings PLC, also known as The Den, to applaud.

“A little boy who loved football, loved the Blues, and is loved in return,” she wrote in a tweet.

Labinjo-Hughes died after a fatal head injury while he was domestically abused since the beginning of lockdown, according to local news reports.

His stepmother was sentenced to 29 years for murder and child cruelty and his father was jailed 21 years for manslaughter, local media reported. Credit: Charlotte Richardson via Storyful
