Sunbathers Bask in London Sunshine Despite Coronavirus Restrictions

London residents enjoyed a day of sunshine at Fulham’s Bishop Park on Sunday, April 5, as some people continued to defy government-imposed restrictions aimed to limit the spread of the coronavirus in the UK.

It comes as Lambeth Council closed Brockwell Park in South London after more than 3,000 people visited the park on Saturday.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said on Sunday that outdoor exercise could be banned if people defy the social distancing rules.

Hancock said sunbathing in public spaces was against government guidance, and told those who defied the guidelines that they are putting their own and others’ lives at risk. Credit: Sophie Hills via Storyful
