"There is no climate justice without social justice. We cannot live on a planet where genocide is allowed with the eyes of the world that are not, of the countries that are not doing anything about it, they are funding the war of Israel, the crimes of Israel against the Palestinian people with money that could go to the ecological transition."

Wearing a keffiyeh, Thunberg marched with protesters holding banners reading 'Stop genocide ecocide' and 'Decolonize'.

Thunberg was a contender for the Nobel Peace Prize, but the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo assigned the prestigious award to the Japanese organization Nihon Hidankyo, a grassroots movement of atomic bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, also known as Hibakusha.
