Hammerhead Shark Hunts Stingray in Shallow Water

A hammerhead shark chased a stingray through shallow waters off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico, on April 15.

This video, recorded by Carlos Roberto Castro Tadeo, shows the stingray leaping in and out of the water as the hammerhead followed in pursuit.

Tadeo told Storyful that the clear blue water underneath the boat was approximately “two meters deep” and that the captain on board said he had never seen a hammerhead shark in water as shallow in his 30 years of experience.
