Hundreds Take to Street in Huntsville to Protest Alabama Abortion Ban

Thousands of people protested across Alabama on Sunday, May 19, against the state’s Human Life Protection Act, which makes abortion illegal, except when the life of the mother is in danger or where the unborn has a “lethal anomaly.”

Large rallies took place in Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery and Mobile, with protesters carrying signs and chanting slogans. Pro-abortion rights groups are vowing to fight the new legislation, which comes as a number of other US states are considering, or have passed, restrictions.
