London’s e-scooter trial was launched on Monday in Canary Wharf. E-scooters will be allowed on roads and cycle lanes but are banned from pavements. The scheme has been limited to Canary Wharf, Ealing, Richmond, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Kensington and Chelsea. The City of London has pushed back its participation until July 5th. London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner Dr Will Norman said: “we can’t uninvent e-scooters, so this is all about, how can we make it safer?”.
