June retail sales see 'positivity' still in consumer spending

US retail sales for June remained flat, potentially signaling changes within the consumer sector. With potential interest rate cuts on the horizon from Federal Reserve officials, could the retail sector see big changes?

Coresight Research founder and CEO Deborah Weinswig joins Wealth! to give insight into June's retail sales data, how consumers are spending, and what it means for the consumer moving forward.

"There is inflation obviously in a lot of the kind of consumer non-durables and whatnot, and so they are seeing that inflation, but they're able to digest it, kind of like out of one category and putting it into the other. But I think there is a surprising optimism I think with where they're spending. I think as they look out six months, there is a bit less of that same positivity. But, you have an election and a lot of noise in there as well."
