Ramzan Kadyrov, Russian politician and leader of the Chechen Republic, said a Cybertruck he claimed was gifted to him by Elon Musk was remotely deactivated, and said two others were deployed to Ukraine in separate posts on September 19 and 20.

Kadyrov first wrote on Telegram about the Cybertruck on August 17, claiming Musk had gifted him the vehicle and lauding its capabilities. Kadyrov shared a video of himself driving in the truck – customized with a machine gun turret in the bed – around his palace in Grozny. Musk denied the claim in a comment on X the following day.

On September 19, Kadyrov claimed Musk had remotely disabled his Cybertruck and admonished the billionaire, saying: “Elon Musk acted ugly. He gives expensive gifts from the heart, and then remotely turns them off,” according to machine translation.

The following day, Kadyrov posted a video of two machine-gun-equipped Cybertrucks he claimed were deployed to the so-called Special Military Operation (SVO) zone in Ukraine, again lauding the capabilities of the vehicles and saying the remote shutdown he previously described did not affect them.
