STORY: Hundreds of supporters gathered in Baghdad's Tahrir square, cheering and waving Iraqi flags to the sound of fireworks and celebratory songs.

Despite a stampede that left one dead and dozens injured in Iraq's southern city of Basra, the match went ahead in Basra's International Stadium, and fans who did not manage to get in could watch the match outside on large screens set up for the occasion.
